We can't take too much credit for this effect.

The original 2D and 3D animations were created on the West Coast, (sorry, we don't know which company). During a later edit in New York, the open door effect was repositioned and there wasn't enough of the original CG door element within raster when the door was wide open. We were asked to re-create the animated door so that it remained within frame at all times. Our new CG door element was then composited over the existing 2D and 3D animation.
